* We realize that this is not a comprehensive list—when we learn about a new role or title, we add it.
Depending on the demands of a project brief, we add subject matter experts to augment the team.
To prevent conflicts of interest, each Brilliant Machine creator is an independent contractor/freelancer.
Creators apply to join the Brilliant Machine platform and are vetted for compatibility with the environment we are trying to create. That is, intentionally inclusive and reverent of differences in culture, identity, expertise, and experience levels, so as to neutralize -isms and cultivate fertile soil for brilliant solutions. Creators are not turned away for this difference but rather, included.
This preliminary vetting process ensures that a network of creators are ready to jump in and participate as soon as a project brief is posted on the Brilliant Machine platform.
Relevant experience and expertise, a solid internet connection, and the desire to collaborate on creative projects with diverse teammates from around the world. The platform and the Brilliant Machine team provide the rest.
When we say “diverse,” we mean aspects of personal identity such as race and gender, but also geographic diversity, which encompasses cultural influences, as well as experience, expertise and ability.
By asking individuals to self-identify during the application process, we are inviting every member of our network to bring their full selves to each project. We believe that the results are stronger when the diversity of the human experience is reflected in the teams behind the work.
Our vetted network of creators are alerted when a new project brief is posted on the Brilliant Machine platform. Those who are interested can easily and quickly apply to participate, sharing why they are a good fit for that particular project.
This contextual input is taken into consideration with the requirements of the project brief to create a customized team that is ready to jump into the unknown together and produce incredible results.
Every member of a project team must tune in each day. However, we don’t expect our creators to stay glued to the screen 24/7 during a project. In fact, we encourage them to stoke their creativity away from the screen and bring inspiration back to the project in focused work bursts.
We invite our clients into the heart of their Brilliant Machine project to observe the process, with designated points between each phase to give feedback and make key decisions that guide the trajectory of the project.
Every project is led by a Brilliant Machine project manager to support both the clients and creators.
A typical Brilliant Machine project (inclusive of all phases) runs for about 10-15 business days. It depends on the requirements of the project, so some will be much shorter and other projects will be longer.
Our prices are extremely straightforward and transparent. We offer a competitive and equal sum to every participating creator on each project, which allows them to dive into the brief without thinking about money-for-minutes. And, we charge a fee to make it all happen.
In total, our pricing looks like this:
Creator Fees + Brilliance Fee = Project Fee
Not yet, but we will be launching a pro bono program in the future. We want to establish a base of well-paid work for our network of creators before we offer the opportunity to participate in meaningful pro-bono briefs. Sign up here to receive our latest news and updates.
